Initiation 201 - Standing Pilates Course
A 15 Hour Course in The Method Pilates®
A 15 hour course that teaches
10 new Fundamentals and then how to perform the 21 Standing
Pilates exercises, now facilitated by Tye4, our wearable harness
that gives resistance and connection.
The course gives you the tools to help our aging and sedentary
population with weight bearing exercise
Prerequisites
» 20 Mat
classes
» Standing Pilates book (available from Amazon)
» Standing Pilates DVD
» Tye4 harness
You are required to complete 20
hours of Mat classes. Please sign-up with us for group Matwork
sessions if you have not completed the 20 hours requirement.
Upon successful registration with PhysicalMind Institute,
a set of course material will be sent to you. You are expected
to study the materials prior to the course.
What It Takes to Pass The
Course
» Understand
relationship of Fundamentals to Pilates exercises.
» Understand biomechanics of trunk and spinal
movement.
» Ability to do the exercises with proper form
and alignment.
» Understand terminology of handouts, reading
assignments
A "Certificate As a Pilates Instructor
" will be given upon successful passing both the theory
(70%) and practical exam.

The Trainer
JOANNA NG
is a certified Pilates instructor in both Mat and Equipment.
She has more than 10 years of experience as a personal
trainer and is certified through PhysicalMind Institute
in The Method® matwork in 1998 and later in the
full repertoire of Pilates equipment in Sante Fe, USA,
where she taught and trained at the same Institute.
Joanna enjoys
sharing and learning and remains committed to continual
education and training, research and keeping abreast
in the fitness industry.
